Anthony Bender
Anthony Bender More live batting practice sessions
Mon, Mar 2, 2026, 9:12 AM
Bender (shin) will throw a couple more live batting practice sessions before making his Grapefruit League debut, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Bender is a bit behind schedule because of a shin issue, but he's on the mend. The veteran reliever faced hitters last week and will do so more times this week before being thrown into game action. Bender has plenty of time to ramp up for Opening Day.
Janson Junk
Janson Junk Spring debut coming Saturday
Mon, Mar 2, 2026, 9:10 AM
Junk (ankle) is slated to make his Grapefruit League debut Saturday against the Astros, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Junk has been behind schedule after suffering a Grade 1 mild right ankle sprain early on in camp. He will throw one inning in Saturday's appearance before building up his workload from there. The right-hander is likely ticketed for a long-relief role with Miami.
Kyle Stowers
Kyle Stowers Running progression starting soon
Mon, Mar 2, 2026, 9:05 AM
Stowers (hamstring) took 30 swings and played catch Sunday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Stowers will advance to some live at-bats within the next few days and will also begin a running progression soon. The outfielder was diagnosed over the weekend with a mild right hamstring strain and is expected to return to game action in 1-2 weeks. Stowers is expected to be ready in time for Opening Day, but he can't afford any type of setback.
Esteury Ruiz
Esteury Ruiz Swipes two bags Saturday
Sun, Mar 1, 2026, 12:31 PM
Ruiz went 0-for-2 with two stolen bases in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Getting the start in center field and batting third, the 27-year-old was hit by a Darlin Saladin sinker in the third inning and promptly swiped second and third base before getting stranded. Ruiz's speed has never been in question, just the skills to support it, so he'll need to do more in camp to justify winning a spot on the Marlins' 26-man roster. If Kyle Stowers' hamstring injury lingers into the regular season, however, it could open up a spot for Ruiz to begin the campaign.
Kyle Stowers
Kyle Stowers Expected to return within two weeks
Sun, Mar 1, 2026, 11:11 AM
Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said than an MRI on Stowers' right hamstring revealed a "very minor" strain, and the outfielder is expected to return to game action in 1-2 weeks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Though the diagnosis comes as welcome news, the 28-year-old still appears set to miss a large chunk of the Marlins' Grapefruit League slate. He won't be shut down from baseball activities for long, with McCullough relaying that Stowers is expected to resume taking live at-bats on the back fields of camp within the next few days. He's coming off a breakout 2025 campaign in which he finished as an NL Gold Glove Award finalist in left field, slugged 25 home runs and stole five bases in 117 games.
Graham Pauley
Graham Pauley Good to go at DH
Sun, Mar 1, 2026, 8:18 AM
Pauley (forearm) is batting sixth as the designated hitter in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals.
Analysis: Pauley has dealt with tightness in his right forearm early in camp, but he's set to make his spring debut Sunday. The 25-year-old likely won't be fully cleared until he's deemed ready to handle defensive duties, but he still has plenty of time to do so ahead of Opening Day.
Graham Pauley
Graham Pauley Returning Sunday
Sat, Feb 28, 2026, 9:18 AM
Pauley (forearm) will serve as Miami's designated hitter in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Pauley's spring debut has been delayed this year due to forearm tightness, but he has seemingly made a full recovery and will begin playing in exhibition games this weekend. The 25-year-old slashed .224/.311/.366 with 11 RBI and 18 runs scored across 184 plate appearances with the Marlins last year and is the favorite to open the regular season as Miami's primary third baseman.
Kyle Stowers
Kyle Stowers Undergoing imaging on hamstring
Sat, Feb 28, 2026, 8:00 AM
Stowers will undergo imaging after being scratched from Saturday's Grapefruit League lineup with hamstring tightness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Stowers should be considered day-to-day for now, but if it's any sort of strain, it could jeopardize the outfielder's availability for Opening Day. The 28-year-old is 1-for-6 with two walks and two strikeouts in his limited action so far this spring.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Making case for Opening Day roster
Thu, Feb 26, 2026, 10:15 AM
Mack went 1-for-3 with a grand slam in the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Phillies on Tuesday.
Analysis: The fifth-inning blast came off minor-league pitcher Andrew Walling, but it was still a statement of intent from Mack that he's not interested in heading back to Triple-A Jacksonville to begin the season. The top catching prospect slashed .252/.323/.463 in 98 games last year with the Jumbo Shrimp, slugging 18 homers, and his defense looks ready for the majors already, although he was charged with a throwing error on a pickoff attempt Tuesday. Mack's biggest hurdle to a spot on the 26-man roster is the fact that Agustin Ramirez and Liam Hicks are ahead of him on the depth chart, but Ramirez still has a lot of work to do on defense to prove he's capable of sticking behind the plate long term. A rough start to 2026 with the glove for the 24-year-old could open the door for Mack to make his MLB debut early in the season.
Janson Junk
Janson Junk Set for bullpen session
Wed, Feb 25, 2026, 8:28 AM
Junk (ankle) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: It's another box to check for Junk, who is working his way back from a Grade 1 mild right ankle sprain. He shouldn't be far off from his Grapefruit League debut, barring any setbacks. Junk is in the running for a spot in the Marlins' rotation, but a long-relief role is more likely.
Jakob Marsee
Jakob Marsee Slugs first spring homer
Tue, Feb 24, 2026, 10:27 AM
Marsee went 1-for-2 with two walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals on Monday.
Analysis: The 24-year-old center fielder took Michael McGreevy deep to lead off the game, and Marsee didn't see much to hit after that before exiting the game in the sixth inning. After an impressive big-league debut in 2025 that saw him slash .292/.363/.478 with five homers and 14 steals in just 55 games for Miami, Marsee is being counted on to make an impact from the top of the lineup this season.
Max Meyer
Max Meyer Sharp in spring debut
Tue, Feb 24, 2026, 10:23 AM
Meyer struck out two in a perfect inning during the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals on Monday.
Analysis: Entering the game in the second inning after Eury Perez got the start and also worked just one frame, Meyer fired seven of 11 pitches for strikes and got both his strikeouts on his plus-plus slider. Meyer is a favorite to claim an Opening Day rotation job, and if the 26-year-old right-hander can manage to stay healthy for once, he could be headed for a breakout after beginning 2025 with a 2.10 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 41:7 K:BB across 30 innings through his first five starts before a hip issue that eventually required season-ending surgery in June cropped up.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Eased into spring
Tue, Feb 24, 2026, 10:18 AM
Perez gave up one run on one hit and two walks over one inning in the Marlins' Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals on Monday. He struck out one.
Analysis: The 22-year-old right-hander tossed 19 pitches (nine strikes) in his first start of the spring before giving way to Max Meyer. Perez threw 118 innings across three levels in 2025, his first season back from Tommy John surgery, and while he scuffled early he posted a 3.86 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 91:22 K:BB in 79.1 innings from July to the end of the regular season. The Marlins will let Perez ramp up slowly in camp, but he's locked into an Opening Day rotation spot.
Anthony Bender
Anthony Bender Throws live batting practice
Tue, Feb 24, 2026, 9:17 AM
Bender (shin) threw a live batting practice session Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Bender has been slowed early in Marlins camp by a shin issue, but he did not appear compromised Tuesday, sitting 95-96 mph with his fastball. The veteran reliever's next time on the bump could be in a game setting.
Graham Pauley
Graham Pauley Cleared of UCL damage
Tue, Feb 24, 2026, 8:17 AM
An MRI on Pauley's right arm did not show any UCL damage, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: It's not clear what the specific diagnosis was, but Pauley appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario. The infielder is able to field grounders but is not yet cleared for throwing or hitting. Pauley told Christina De Nicola of MLB.com on Tuesday that he could play in games as soon as later this week and no later than within two weeks. Pauley has a shot to be ready for Opening Day, but it could be close.
Graham Pauley
Graham Pauley Hopes to be back soon
Tue, Feb 24, 2026, 7:50 AM
Pauley (forearm) said he'll return to games within a week in a best-case scenario, and in two weeks at most, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reported Tuesday.
Analysis: He underwent imaging Monday after experiencing tightness, and it sounds like he has a chance to still be ready for Opening Day. Connor Norby will get a chance to play third base in the meantime.
Andrew Nardi
Andrew Nardi Faces live hitters
Mon, Feb 23, 2026, 9:55 AM
Nardi (finger) threw a 15-pitch live batting practice session Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Nardi was briefly set back in camp after developing a blister on his pitching hand, but that no longer appears to be a concern for the lefty reliever. At this point in camp, Nardi's main focus will be building up the volume and intensity of his throwing sessions after back problems kept him out for the entire 2025 season. Nardi could face hitters in controlled settings on a couple more occasions before the Marlins clear him to make his Grapefruit League debut.
Janson Junk
Janson Junk Aims for mound work this week
Mon, Feb 23, 2026, 9:40 AM
Junk (ankle) is aiming to throw off the mound by Wednesday or Thursday, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Junk suffered a Grade 1 mild right ankle sprain during a drill last week, but he shed his walking boot over the weekend and is nearing a return to the bump. The injury should not prevent Junk from being ready for Opening Day, but it's made his bid for a spot in the Marlins' rotation more difficult.
Graham Pauley
Graham Pauley Getting forearm checked out
Mon, Feb 23, 2026, 8:33 AM
The Marlins announced Monday that Pauley underwent imaging after experiencing forearm tightness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Pauley has yet to appear in a Grapefruit League game because of the issue and hasn't improved as hoped, so the Marlins sent him for tests. Results of the imaging should be available within a day or two, but he'll at least temporarily be shut down from baseball activities. If the issue jeopardizes Pauley's availability for Opening Day, Connor Norby would be the favorite to start at third base for the Marlins.
Christopher Morel
Christopher Morel Looking good with glove at 1B
Sun, Feb 22, 2026, 8:46 AM
Morel handled a number of tough chances at first base without issue during the Marlins' Grapefruit League opener against the Mets on Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The 26-year-old has never played a game at first base as a professional, but after signing a one-year contract with Miami in December, Morel got to work over the winter to learn the new position. He compared the footwork necessary around the bag to learning a popular dance in his native Dominican Republic. "It's more the feet when you go to cover first base, trying to put your feet correctly," Morel said after Saturday's game. "But we're getting better. Today, we got a few ground balls, and I'm trying to dance bachata today. We need to dance bachata to be a first baseman." While getting his glovework in order is a good first step, he'll likely need to improve his offensive contributions as well to secure a full-time role at first base -- over the last two seasons between the Cubs and Rays, Morel launched 32 homers with 15 steals in 257 games but slashed just .204/.288/.363 with a 29.3 percent strikeout rate.
