Ryan Gusto
Ryan Gusto Knocked around in second loss
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 9:41 PM
Gusto (0-2) took the loss Monday against the Phillies, allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out one.
Analysis: Gusto struggled to contain the Philadelphia bats Monday, throwing a lone clean inning on the evening. The 27-year-old right-hander logged season worsts in hits, runs and walks allowed, but he did reach the 90-pitch marker for the first time this year. Gusto appears to be ready to handle a traditional starter's workload going forward, and he'll carry a bloated 7.24 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB over 13.2 innings into his next scheduled outing at home versus the Giants.
Griffin Conine
Griffin Conine Set to begin rehab assignment
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 5:51 PM
Conine (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Conine required left hamstring surgery in late April but has progressed enough that he's ready to test things out in a game setting. Given how much time the 28-year-old has missed, Conine's rehab assignment will likely be fairly lengthy.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Rehab start scheduled for Thursday
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 5:46 PM
Perez (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Perez is slated to throw 3-to-4 innings and/or 50 pitches in the outing. It will be the first start for Perez since he went down with a right gracilis strain more than two weeks ago. Initial estimates pegged Perez's absence to last as long as eight weeks, but it appears he'll have a good shot to be back before then.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Pops second homer
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 12:55 PM
Mack went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
Analysis: The rookie catcher hit his second career homer in the second inning off Paul Skenes, giving the Marlins a 2-0 lead they wouldn't relinquish. Mack is starting to find a groove at the plate in the majors, slashing .313/.371/.531 over 10 games in June with a double, both his long balls, five runs and eight RBI.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Belts sixth homer
Mon, Jun 15, 2026, 12:53 PM
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
Analysis: Getting the start in left field and batting fifth, Hernandez took Paul Skenes deep in the second inning to open the scoring in a 4-2 victory. The 26-year-old outfielder has been locked in this month, slashing .333/.368/.694 through 10 games in June with four of his six homers on the season, along with eight runs and eight RBI. The surge has moved Hernandez to the top of the depth chart in left field, allowing Kyle Stowers to see more time at first base.
Pete Fairbanks
Pete Fairbanks Hangs on for ninth save
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 6:41 PM
Fairbanks secured the save Sunday against the Pirates, allowing one run on one hit and no walks in the ninth inning. He struck out two.
Analysis: Although Fairbanks held on for the save Sunday, his grip on Miami's closer role appears to be tenuous at best. The hard-throwing right-hander has given up at least one run in eight of his last 19 appearances, but he has punched out multiple batters eight times during that span. For the year, Fairbanks has a 6.75 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 29:11 K:BB over 20 innings while converting nine of his 11 save chances.
Max Meyer
Max Meyer Remains undefeated in seventh win
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 6:35 PM
Meyer (7-0) notched the win Sunday against the Pirates, allowing one run on six hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out nine.
Analysis: Meyer was able to outduel Paul Skenes on Sunday, firing six innings of one-run ball. The 27-year-old right-hander, who continues to push for his first career All-Star selection, tied a season high in strikeouts and has now pitched at least five frames while yielding two runs or fewer 10 times this year. Still undefeated in 2026, Mayer is next set to take an impressive 2.75 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 95:32 K:BB across 85 innings into a soft home matchup versus the Giants.
Connor Norby
Connor Norby Filling in at third base
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 9:10 AM
Norby will start at third base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: Though he'll crack the starting nine for the series finale in Pittsburgh, Norby's playing time has been trending down of late while the Marlins have made a more concerted effort to keep the hot-hitting Heriberto Hernandez's bat in the lineup. Norby will be included in the lineup for just the fifth time in the last 11 games, this time covering the hot corner in place of a resting Javier Sanoja after his previous four starts had come at first base. With Hernandez gaining a foothold in left field, the Marlins could continue to lean primarily on Liam Hicks and Kyle Stowers at first base rather than Norby, who is slashing a measly .193/.317/.307 since the beginning of May.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Nabbing third straight start
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 9:07 AM
Hernandez will start in left field and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: Since recalling Hernandez from Triple-A Jacksonville on May 7, the Marlins had mostly been using him as a short-side platoon player, but the 26-year-old's hot-hitting ways have allowed him to gain traction in the lineup against right-handed pitching of late. Hernandez will be included in the starting nine for a third straight matchup with a righty and has hit out of the No. 5 spot in each of those contests. He's slashing a robust .313/.338/.563 with five home runs, two steals, 16 RBI and nine runs over 22 games since his call-up.
Javier Sanoja
Javier Sanoja Receiving breather Sunday
Sun, Jun 14, 2026, 9:03 AM
Sanoja is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: Sanoja will get a breather after he started in each of the Marlins' last four games -- three at third base, one at shortstop -- while going 2-for-14 with one double, one walk and three runs. Otto Lopez will be back at shortstop after serving as the Marlins' designated hitter Saturday, while Connor Norby receives the nod at the hot corner.
Owen Caissie
Owen Caissie Getting breather Saturday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 2:18 PM
Caissie isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: Caissie will get a chance to regroup after going just 2-for-24 at the plate since the beginning of the month. While he sits, Heriberto Hernandez, Jakob Marsee and Kyle Stowers will start across Miami's outfield.
Joe Mack
Joe Mack Riding pine Saturday
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 2:16 PM
Mack isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.
Analysis: Mack will step out of the lineup Saturday after going 0-for-6 with a walk and two strikeouts across his last two games. Liam Hicks will move behind the plate as a result, putting Otto Lopez in the DH spot and giving Leo Jimenez a start at third base.
Liam Hicks
Liam Hicks Carries offense in Friday's win
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 8:16 AM
Hicks went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Friday's 8-3 win over the Pirates.
Analysis: The breakout slugger took Antwone Kelly deep in the eighth inning to put a cap on another productive night. Hicks is up to 50 RBI on the season, tied for sixth in the majors, and through 67 contests he's slashing .274/.355/.489 with 13 homers and 38 runs while splitting his time almost equally between catcher, first base and DH.
Sandy Alcantara
Sandy Alcantara Sharp in sixth win
Sat, Jun 13, 2026, 8:11 AM
Alcantara (6-4) picked up the win Friday, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over eight innings in an 8-3 victory over the Pirates. He struck out seven.
Analysis: The right-hander reached 1,000 career strikeouts along the way, as Alcantara delivered his third straight quality start and 10th of the season on 102 pitches (70 strikes). Through his first three outings in June, he's produced a 2.86 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 19:2 K:BB over 22 innings, showing glimpses of his 2022 Cy Young form. Alcantara will look to keep rolling in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Philadelphia.
Lake Bachar
Lake Bachar Opening again Saturday
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 8:43 PM
Bachar will serve as the opening pitcher in Saturday's game against the Pirates, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: The Marlins will be relying on their bullpen to get through Saturday's contest, and it will be Bachar taking the mound to begin the game. The 31-year-old fared well during his latest opening assignment last Saturday, striking out three batters across three perfect innings.
Zach Pop
Zach Pop Lands with Marlins
Fri, Jun 12, 2026, 4:51 PM
Pop signed a minor-league contract with the Marlins on Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Pop elected free agency last weekend after being DFA'd by the Phillies, and he'll now attempt to carve out a role for himself in the Marlins organization. The 29-year-old righty gave up three earned runs in 7.1 innings during his time with Philadelphia, but he's given up eight runs in eight frames at Triple-A. If he turns things around at Jacksonville, he could be welcomed into Miami's bullpen at some point.
Otto Lopez
Otto Lopez Swipes two bags Thursday
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 6:39 PM
Lopez went 2-for-4 with a run and two stolen bases against Arizona in a 2-0 win Thursday.
Analysis: Lopez was the only batter on either team to record multiple hits in the low-scoring affair. He manufactured a run in the first inning by knocking a single, reaching second base on a disengagement violation, stealing third and then coming home on a sacrifice fly. The speedy infielder added another theft later in the game for his third multi-steal performance of the campaign. Lopez is in the midst of the best season of his career, as he leads qualified MLB hitters with a .344 batting average while adding five homers, 18 doubles (tied for fifth-most), three triples, 30 RBI, 42 runs and 13 steals through 68 games.
Pete Fairbanks
Pete Fairbanks Impressive in eighth save
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 6:21 PM
Fairbanks earned a save against the Diamondbacks on Thursday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.
Analysis: Fairbanks was called upon to protect a 2-0 lead in the ninth inning and made quick work of Arizona, retiring the side in order on 13 pitches. It was one of the better outings in what has been an inconsistent campaign for the veteran reliever, and Thursday marked just the third time over his past 12 appearances that he didn't allow a hit or a walk. Fairbanks continues to serve as Miami's primary closer despite holding a 6.63 ERA and 1.47 WHIP through 19 innings spanning 21 outings on the season. He's converted eight of 10 save chances and has a 27:11 K:BB.
Tyler Phillips
Tyler Phillips Defangs D-backs for first victory
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 6:13 PM
Phillips (1-1) earned the win over Arizona on Thursday, allowing two hits and issuing two walks while striking out five batters over five-plus scoreless innings.
Analysis: Phillips served as a bulk reliever in his previous outing June 5, but he was deployed as a starter Thursday. The right-hander excelled in that role, limiting the Diamondbacks to just one hit through five frames. Phillips went back out for the sixth and yielded a single before being lifted at 70 pitches. Having worked out of the bullpen for most of the campaign, Phillips isn't yet up to a full starter's workload, topping out at 82 pitches in that June 5 piggyback appearance. He should be able to push his pitch count up as he settles into the rotation, and he may be worth a look for fantasy managers in need of pitching given his 2.95 ERA across 18.1 innings since moving into the rotation. His 14:8 K:BB over that span is less appealing, though.
William Kempner
William Kempner Nabs first big-league win
Thu, Jun 11, 2026, 8:49 AM
Kempner (1-0) picked up the win Wednesday, walking two and striking out three over two scoreless, no-hit innings of relief in a victory over the Diamondbacks.
Analysis: The rookie right-hander took the mound in the seventh inning, the third of four Miami pitchers in a combined shutout, and he wound up being credited with the win. Kempner has yet to allow a run in his first five big-league appearances, posting a 0.75 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB over 6.2 innings, but he doesn't yet appear to be part of the high-leverage picture for manager Clayton McCullough -- he entered Wednesday's contest with the Marlins already up 8-0.
