Liam Hicks
Liam Hicks Swats fourth homer
Thu, Apr 16, 2026, 11:10 AM
Hicks went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: The 26-year-old backstop had gone 12 straight games without leaving the yard after a power surge in the first week of the season, but Hicks got hold of an Osvaldo Bido slider in the eighth inning Wednesday and ripped it down the right-field line for his fourth homer of the year. Hicks has been playing nearly every day between catcher (10 games), first base (six games) and DH (three games), slashing .309/.355/.545 with a stunning 18 RBI, two behind MLB leader Andy Pages.
Chris Paddack
Chris Paddack Chased in fifth inning in loss
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 10:39 PM
Paddack (0-3) took the loss Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: Paddack held Atlanta in check for the most part, but he wasn't particularly efficient with his pitch count. The right-hander couldn't get through the fifth inning, finishing with 92 pitches and failing to pitch at least five innings for the third time in four starts to begin the year. Paddack appears to have a soft matchup against the Cardinals in his next scheduled start, but he still won't be a recommended fantasy option in most cases while carrying a 5.59 ERA and 1.45 WHIP across his first 19.1 innings.
Agustin Ramirez
Agustin Ramirez Exiting starting lineup
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 3:13 PM
Ramirez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta.
Analysis: Ramirez will be getting just his second day off of the season, as he's been busy between catching and designated-hitter duties. Liam Hicks will start behind the plate and bat cleanup for the Marlins on Wednesday.
Jakob Marsee
Jakob Marsee Swipes another bag
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 9:37 PM
Marsee went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a run scored and a steal during Tuesday's 6-5 loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: Marsee scored the game's first run in the first inning on a Agustin Ramirez sacrifice fly, and the former gave the Marlins a 4-0 lead in the second on an RBI single before stealing second base. Marsee is batting just .174 across 81 plate appearances to open the season, but his eight steals are tied with Jose Ramirez and Bobby Witt for most in the majors, with four of those swipes coming against the Reds on April 7. Marsee's two triples are also tied for second most in MLB behind Corbin Carroll (three).
Max Meyer
Max Meyer Another no-decision
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 9:30 PM
Meyer did not factor into Tuesday's decision against Atlanta. He allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings.
Analysis: Meyer gave up two RBI doubles in the third inning but was in line for his second win of the season after the Marlins grabbed a 5-3 lead. However, he had to settle with the no-decision after Pete Fairbanks yielded a bases-clearing, three-run double to Dominic Smith. Meyer generated 14 whiffs and seven groundouts while recording 55 strikes on 82 pitches (67.1 percent) during Tuesday's outing. He has three no-decisions through four starts while logging a 4.12 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB across 19.2 innings. Meyer is tentatively slated to start next weekend at home against the Cardinals.
Pete Fairbanks
Pete Fairbanks Blows save, takes loss Tuesday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 9:17 PM
Fairbanks (0-1) blew the save and took the loss during Tuesday's game against Atlanta. He allowed three runs on three hits while striking out one batter across one inning.
Analysis: The Marlins brought out Fairbanks for the bottom of the eighth while holding a 5-3 lead. He retired two of the first three batters he faced before loading the bases, and he was unable to get out of the frame unscathed after yielding a bases-clearing double to Dominic Smith. Fairbanks collected a save in two of his first three outings of the season while striking out five batters across three innings. However, he has allowed three earned runs in each of his last two appearances. If Fairbanks can't figure out his command, then that might force the Marlins look to other closing options out of the bullpen such as Michael Petersen, Tyler Phillips, Calvin Faucher or Anthony Bender.
Esteury Ruiz
Esteury Ruiz Set to begin rehab assignment
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 8:04 PM
Ruiz will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Analysis: Ruiz was given a 6-to-8-week return timeline when he landed on the injured list in late March with a high-grade left oblique strain. While returning to a competitive environment is an encouraging development in his recovery, the 27-year-old outfielder will likely remain in the minors for an extended period, giving him plenty of time to ramp up before coming off the IL.
Maximo Acosta
Maximo Acosta Rehab assignment on tap
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 7:58 PM
Acosta (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Analysis: Acosta landed on the injured list ahead of Opening Day due to a left oblique strain, but he now appears to be nearing a return. The 23-year-old infielder slashed .229/.318/.377 across 466 plate appearances with Jacksonville last season and will likely return to the minors once he's activated.
Heriberto Hernandez
Heriberto Hernandez Not in Tuesday's lineup
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 5:45 PM
Hernandez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.
Analysis: Hernandez started the previous three games and delivered his first multi-hit effort of the season Monday, going 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored. The 26-year-old has yet to find much success at the plate this season with a .163/.280/.209 slash line through 50 plate appearances.
Xavier Edwards
Xavier Edwards Crosses plate three times Monday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 9:16 AM
Edwards went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored in Monday's win over Atlanta.
Analysis: The 26-year-old middle infielder continues a blistering start to the season. Edwards has already racked up eight multi-hit performances in 17 games, slashing .359/.414/.516 with six extra-base hits, six RBI, 14 runs and two steals while sitting a consistent second in the order against right-handed pitching.
Jakob Marsee
Jakob Marsee Pilfers seventh bag
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 9:13 AM
Marsee went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's win over Atlanta.
Analysis: The 24-year-old center fielder has had a tough start to the year at the plate, but Marsee has made an impact when he's been able to get on base. Through 17 games, he's slashing a tepid .152/.260/.227 with a double, two triples, three RBI and 12 runs, and he's gone 7-for-8 on steal attempts -- putting him in a tie for first place in the NL in that category with the Pirates' Oneil Cruz and the Nationals' Nasim Nunez.
Andrew Nardi
Andrew Nardi Credited with win Monday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 9:10 AM
Nardi (1-0) struck out one in a perfect fifth inning Monday to record the win in a 10-4 victory over Atlanta.
Analysis: Eury Perez was lifted after four-plus innings and 76 pitches with the Marlins ahead 6-4, but Nardi was able to shut down the opposition when he entered the game with runners on first and second and nobody out. The southpaw has looked good to begin 2026 after missing all of 2025 due to back woes, posting a 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB over five innings with a win and two holds in six appearances.
Connor Norby
Connor Norby Blasts homer Monday
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 11:18 PM
Norby went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 10-4 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Norby turned on a 93.9 mph sinker from Rolddy Munoz and sent it over the left-field wall in the sixth inning for his second homer of the season. The 25-year-old has been locked in at the plate of late, riding a six-game hitting streak and raising his OPS to .847 through 15 games. With Christopher Morel (oblique) sidelined, Norby has taken advantage of regular opportunities at first base.
Liam Hicks
Liam Hicks Tallies three RBI in win
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 11:16 PM
Hicks went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 10-4 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Hicks was a run-producing force, driving in three runs as part of a three-hit performance. After posting just a .412 OPS over his previous 10 appearances, the catcher looked more like his early-season self Monday, when he recorded a 1.660 OPS through Miami's first five contests. Through 16 games, the 26-year-old is hitting .319/.370/.532 with three homers, a double, 10 runs and 16 RBI.
Agustin Ramirez
Agustin Ramirez Goes deep in four-RBI performance
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 11:13 PM
Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional RBI, an additional run scored and a walk in Monday's 10-4 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Ramirez put Miami ahead in the fifth inning with a three-run blast into the left-field bleachers, a lead the club wouldn't relinquish. It marked the 24-year-old's first homer of the season after a slow start, with Monday's performance raising his OPS from .617 to .731 through 16 games. Coming off a rookie campaign in 2025 in which he tallied 21 homers and 33 doubles, Ramirez will look to build on this effort and generate more extra-base production moving forward.
Eury Perez
Eury Perez Lasts four innings Monday
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 11:09 PM
Perez did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks over four innings against Atlanta. He struck out two.
Analysis: Perez failed to qualify for the win, as the right-hander was pulled after four innings on just 76 pitches. After averaging six strikeouts in his first three starts of the season, the 22-year-old managed only two punchouts in Monday's outing. Through four appearances in 2026, Perez owns a 5.40 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with a 20:11 K:BB across 20 innings and is slated to face Milwaukee in his next start Sunday.
Austin Slater
Austin Slater On base three times in loss
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 11:04 AM
Slater went 2-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.
Analysis: Getting the start in right field and batting leadoff against ace left-hander Tarik Skubal, Slater did his job by getting on base and even broke up Skubal's no-hit bid in the sixth inning with a bloop into center field, but the rest of the Marlins' lineup had much less success on the day. However, Slater hasn't exactly thrived in his short-side platoon role this season, batting just .190 (4-for-21) in nine games with zero extra-base hits and a 2:8 BB:K.
Otto Lopez
Otto Lopez Strong start continues
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 5:30 PM
Lopez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-2 loss to Detroit.
Analysis: Lopez left the yard for the second time this season, accounting for Miami's entire offense Sunday. The shortstop has hit safely in all but three of his first 15 games, tallying multiple knocks in six outings. Overall, Lopez is batting a hot .327 with seven extra-base hits, six RBI, 10 runs scored and two stolen bases.
Sandy Alcantara
Sandy Alcantara Rocked for seven runs in first loss
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 5:13 PM
Alcantara (1-1) took the loss Sunday against the Tigers, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: On the heels of dominating the Rockies, White Sox and Reds in each of his first three starts, respectively, Alcantara floundered in perhaps his toughest test of the season so far. It was the eighth time in the right-hander's career that he was knocked around for double-digit hits, and he surrendered at least seven runs for the eighth time in his career. Despite Sunday's hiccup, Alcantara still boasts a 2.67 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB through 30.1 innings ahead of his next start versus the Brewers.
Graham Pauley
Graham Pauley Sitting against Skubal
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 11:43 AM
Pauley is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Analysis: Pauley had started in each of the Marlins' last four games, but he'll take a seat Sunday while the Tigers send southpaw Tarik Skubal to the bump. He'll be joined on the bench by fellow left-handed hitters Owen Caissie and Liam Hicks.
